Friendly, confidence-building spelling competition for students in Grades 3–12. Free to enter. prizes, medals, and certificates. Families welcome.

About the Event

The RCF Community Spelling Bee is a fun, confidence-building competition for students in Grades 3–12. All families and schools are welcome—spectators attend free.

Divisions

  • Junior: Grades 3–5
  • Intermediate: Grades 6–8
  • Senior: Grades 9–12

Schedule

  • Check-in: 10:00 AM
  • Opening & Rules: 10:20 AM
  • Round 1: 10:30 AM
  • Finals: 1:30 PM
  • Awards & Photos: 3:00 PM

Prizes

  • Trophies for 1st–3rd in each division
  • Medals for finalists and certificates for all participants
  • Special recognition in our Future Leaders Spotlight

Rules (summary)

  • Single-elimination rounds; finalists advance to the championship round.
  • Spellers may ask for definition, part of speech, or language of origin.
  • 30 seconds to start spelling after the word is given.
  • One self-correction allowed before the judge indicates the spelling is final.
  • Judges’ decisions are final; full rules provided at check-in.

Registration

Register a Student   (closes one week before the event)

  • Free to enter. Space is limited; first come, first served.
  • Parent/guardian consent required for minors.
  • Schools may register groups; email us for roster templates.

Prepare & Practice

  • Review grade-appropriate word lists and read daily.
  • Practice speaking clearly into the mic and asking for definitions.
